Kopo Kopo’s ethos has always been centered around the simplest of stories:

Our story
We believe in making it simple for businesses to operate. That has been our goal since 2012 when we partnered with Safaricom to bring the Lipa Na MPESA Buy Goods service to small and medium sized businesses throughout Kenya.
While this has not changed and we remain true to helping thousands of businesses to accept digital payments, our efforts have not stopped there. We have gone a step further to understand the challenges that would stop that entrepreneur who runs a boutique, restaurant or bookstore from growing. We get these insights through listening to our customers and use the feedback to build better products and tools that make it truly simple for any business to run, grow and succeed. Whether you are running a small hardware kiosk, a high end coffee shop or a small eating kibanda (“kibandaski”), we believe that you should have access to the same business tools that larger businesses have access to at minimal costs. As a business owner, you should have the tools that help you run your business so that you can focus on what matters most — your customers.
Why did we rebrand?
We did not rebrand just for the mere sake of change. As we have served businesses over the last 8 years we realized that we are more than a payments company that helps businesses accept digital payments. In our quest to help small and medium businesses grow, we began offering tools other than payments processing to businesses. From our popular Business Cash Advance product (Grow) that offers unsecured credit, to our SMS marketing tools to our Bulk Payments product for making out going payments we have more and more focused on providing tools in addition to payments to help businesses grow. We wanted our brand to more accurately reflect this evolution. We also wanted to be clearer on how we communicate about our products and how we would like our customers to think of us. For example instead of referring to our Cash Advance product as “Grow”, we will now call it Kopo Kopo Business Cash Advance. As we continue to focus in becoming a one stop shop for commerce solutions for businesses, we are excited about other business tools that we are currently working on and will be releasing soon.
What does it mean?

This has not changed. As a company, we still ascribe to our F.A.I.R principles;

We have a new logo
As part of our rebrand, we are also unveiling a new logo and company color palette. Our new tagline “Simple tools for your business” clearly projects our vision and promise to our customers. Our new symbol we feel, better represents us and everything we stand for. The new symbol, represents three key themes, 1. Sustainable growth and unlocked potential, 2. Strong foundations, 3. Future opportunities and prosperity — all themes that we want to impart to our customers.
