Business Success Story: Hawi and Hera Beauty Creations

Meet David, the Founder of Hawi and Hera Beauty Creations
“After being in the hair and salon industry for ten years, I wanted to start a business that inspires every customer who walks in through the door. This is because I feel strongly about encouraging others. I believe that every interaction with customers should be more than a transaction,” says David.
The answer was to start Hawi and Hera Beauty Creations — a hair and beauty salon that its very name constantly reminds him why he started: Hawi stands for luck and Hera represents love. With only two beauticians and two hairdressers, David knew he had to have the right mindset in order to succeed.
Four years later, his efforts are paying off. Hawi and Hera’s customer list is growing day by day. “We have, especially, made a name for the best haircuts, short weaves and manicures in town. We continue to win and keep customers because of the amazing experience they receive at Hawi and Hera,” adds David.
David has managed to stay ahead of the game by creating a winning culture in the business. At the same time, he mentions that Hawi and Hera Beauty Creations has grown because he had had to take certain risks. “I have had to take leaps of faith and that is why we have grown from four to eleven employees. Plenty of entrepreneurs are not willing to venture and try out new things and that is why they stagnate,” says David.
On payments , David acknowledges that it is important to make it simpler for customers to make payments. “My customers kept asking if they could pay using Lipa Na Mpesa and I thought it was a difficult process to get one. That is until I knew about Kopo Kopo, Inc.. “I discovered Kopo Kopo, Inc. through social media and I was glad that they provide till numbers. I applied right away and within the same week, the till was ready. After three months of transacting, I was met with a pleasant surprise when I was told that I qualify for a Business Cash Advance. I remember asking myself, is this real? I then quickly referred four of my friends to get a till from Kopo Kopo as well,” he says happily.
To finish us off, David stresses the importance of putting the customer first. “We instill the value of customer service at Hawi and Hera. “Every lady that comes to Hawi and Hera should feel good and welcomed,” David adds. “At Hawi and Hera, we believe in the power of prayer. We begin each day with a prayer and make it a point to pray for our customers too. We want to have a positive impact on every customer.”
