Operations Associate-Ksh 70,000 per month
Kopo Kopo is hiring a number of Operations Associates to strengthen the company’s ability to serve its customers. We believe in making it simpler for businesses to operate. That’s been our goal since 2012, when we partnered with Safaricom to bring Lipa Na M-Pesa Buy Goods service to businesses throughout Kenya. Our efforts have not stopped there – we seek to understand the challenges that our business customers face and build technology tools to help them overcome those challenges. We get insights through listening to our customers and use the feedback to build better products that make it simpler for any business to run, grow and succeed.
The Job: The role will combine aspects of customer service and operations duties. Ultimately, you will be responsible for quickly solving problems for businesses that rely on Kopo Kopo’s technology. You will ensure that Kopo Kopo’s information systems are kept up to date, and will engage proactively with our customers on matters regarding our services – resolving customer issues in our systems and communicating that resolution back to that customer.
About you: You have high standards, and you know what good customer service looks like. You have good communication skills and are not afraid to speak up when something is not up to your standards. You have strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills. Working with software tools comes naturally to you. You have an appetite to learn, and want a job where you can advance quickly, not one where you can relax. You are willing to work any shift, day or night, any day of the year, reflecting Kopo Kopo’s role as a provider of critical 24/7 infrastructure in Kenya’s payment systems.
The job will start as a three-month contract at Ksh 50,000 per month. If confirmed at the end of this period, your salary will be increased to Ksh 70,000 per month (gross) with the possibility of quick upward adjustments for star performers. There are numerous opportunities for your learning and development. Our amazing medical cover includes provisions for optical and dental services. We offer fully paid parental leave. We also host regular team lunches, and company-sponsored social events where you get to interact with your colleagues and have fun. How to apply: If this interests you and you are eager to work with us, carefully follow the instructions here: Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, with a cc to email@example.com with the subject line “Operations Associate – [your name]”. The body of the email should contain exactly three sentences giving a personal example of a good customer service experience that YOU had (as a customer) in Kenya. The first sentence should begin “I had a good customer service experience….”. Attach your CV to the email; this should be the only attachment on the email. You should not include any cover letter or anything else in the email other than the customer service example and your CV. Name the CV file with the same name that you used in the subject line. The email should be sent between 6PM and 10PM on Friday, 10th March 2023, not before or after. Applications that do not follow these instructions precisely will not be considered.
If you are able to complete the application according to the steps above, expect a series of work simulations as part of our interview process, testing your critical thinking, your math skills, your written and verbal abilities, and other skills. It will be these tests and work simulations that will determine who is hired; no particular previous experience or qualifications will matter if you can show us how good you are. We are a company that doesn’t care much about your background, but rather what you can do – so there is no need to spend much time editing your CV before applying. Best of Luck!
